The Big Family Day Out 2023
The Big Family Day Out is an independent family festival held at Williamson Park in Lancaster, It brings together top attractions, thrilling arena demonstrations, spectacular airshows, musical tributes, and a wide range of entertainment for an unforgettable family day out. With multiple zones and arenas, there’s something for everyone to enjoy, from daytime fun right through to evening excitement.
I was approached to illustrate and design the visual identity for the family festival, focusing on abstract and vibrant forms that evoke energy and excitement. The 2023 design introduces a royal theme for the ‘kings and queens of pop’, adding crowns and subtle yellow/gold. The eyes remain a central feature, staying true to their original design as a nod to our earlier art collaboration with Emma Evans. This continuity ensures the new look is both familiar and exciting, while the bold use of color and abstraction adds a modern twist to the overall feel.
